Adapter - 5.5mm x 2.1mm Female Barrel Socket - 2 x Female Screw Terminal Clamps

Description

This adapter has a 5.5mm x 2.1mm female barrel socket at one end and 2 x female screw terminal clamps at the other end. This adapter is used to adapt a 5.5mm x 2.1mm male barrel plug to a pair of stripped 16AWG to 24AWG wires. Great for adapting a 5.5mm x 2.1mm male barrel plug found at the end of DC power cables to a pair of stripped wires. See pictures for example applications. The 5.5mm x 2.1mm female barrel socket at one end of the adapter works with the 5.5mm x 2.1mm male barrel plugs found on our battery eliminator kit accessories such as our power extension cables, power splitter cables and AC to DC wall power adapters.

Note(s)

The center pin/tip of the 5.5mm x 2.1mm female barrel socket is connected to the positive (+) female screw terminal clamp, and the ring/sleeve of the 5.5mm x 2.1mm female barrel socket is connected to the negative (-) female screw terminal clamp. The 2 x female screw terminal clamps have (+) and (-) polarity markings on the housing of the adapter for identification. See pictures for further clarification.

Screw Terminal Clamps

A small flat-head or Phillips-head screwdriver (not included) must be used to loosen and tighten the screws on the screw terminal clamps. Make sure each screw is firmly tightened once the bare wire is inserted into the screw terminal clamps to prevent the wires from working loose.
