This 5VDC@3A IP68 Rated Outdoor AC to DC Power Adapter is designed for use with our Outdoor Battery Eliminator Kits which are used to replace 3 x AAA, 3 x AA, 3 x C or 3 x D alkaline batteries in outdoor electronic devices. This Outdoor AC to DC Power Adapter plugs into a standard electrical outlet and converts 120VAC to 5VDC@3A and comes with a 6-ft long input power cable and a 6.5-ft long output power cable that has a waterproof 5.5mm x 2.1mm male barrel plug with an M12-1.75 screw nut at the end. This waterproof 5.5mm x 2.1mm male barrel plug works with our Outdoor Battery Eliminator Kits and our Outdoor Power Extension Cables and Outdoor Power Splitter Cables. The waterproof 5.5mm x 2.1mm male barrel plug at the end of the output power cable is also compatible with our regular indoor 5.5mm x 2.1mm female barrel sockets, but the connections with not be waterproof. Well have special adhesive lined heat-shrink tubing which can be used to waterproof these connections.

Since this Outdoor AC to DC Power Adapter can supply up to 3A of output current, it can power a heavy-duty load that requires up to 3A of output current. It can also power more than a single light-duty load (<1A) by purchasing additional Outdoor Active Dummy Cell Batteries and Passive Dummy Cell Batteries and our optional Outdoor Power Splitter Cables (available in 2-way). We also sell optional Outdoor Power Extension Cables when additional cable length is required.

IMPORTANT NOTES: This AC to DC Wall Power Adapter Converts the 120VAC coming from a standard 120VAC wall outlet into 5VDC which is what’s needed to supply power to outdoor electronic devices that use 3 x AAA, 3 x AA, 3 x C or 3 x D batteries. A regular alkaline battery supplies about 1.5VDC, so 3 batteries supply about 4.5VDC, so the 5VDC supplied by this power adapter is well within the range required by electronic devices that operate on 3 alkaline batteries. The power adapter is supplying the same power as these batteries, and your outdoor electronic devices won’t know the difference. Our Outdoor AC to DC Power Adapters can power more than one outdoor electronic device, so if you need to power multiple outdoor electronic devices from a single Outdoor AC to DC Power Adapter, simply purchase the necessary Outdoor Active Dummy Cell Batteries and Passive Dummy Cell Batteries, Outdoor Power Splitter Cables, and Outdoor Power Extension Cables. 1 x *Outdoor Active Dummy Cell Battery and 2 x Passive Dummy Cell Batteries are needed for each outdoor electronic device you wish to power. This outdoor power adapter will not work with outdoor electronic devices that use anything other than 3 alkaline batteries.
